The very strange thing which is happening, and I just called my friend Dr. Michael Tanner, who tells me that it is rather universal, which means that it is not strange. I remember French songs which my mother had my brother and me sing [i.e. sung] when I was 4 or maybe 5 years old. What is fascinanting to me is that I have not thought of these songs in the intervening 90 plus years and suddenly now that I am 94 years old they are popping into my head along with poetic Greek fables: "Er stand auf seines Daches [...] und schaute mit vergnügten Sinnen auf das beherrschte [...] hin, 'Dies Alles ist mit untertänig', begann er zu Aegypten's König. 'Gestehe dass ich glücklich bin.' 'Du hast der Götter Gunst ... erfahren. Die einstmals Deinesgleichen waren, die zwingt jetzt Deines Szepter's Macht. Doch einer lebt noch sich zu rächen' [...]"
