| Paul Bouvier (1857-1940), « apprenti architecte chez Paul de Pury et William Mayor à Neuchâtel. Diplôme d'architecte aux Beaux-Arts à Paris. À Neuchâtel dès 1887, B. se spécialisa dans l'architecture éphémère (Exposition fédérale d'agriculture, Neuchâtel, 1887; Palais des beaux-arts et Village suisse de l'Exposition nationale, Genève, 1896; Section suisse de l'Exposition universelle, Paris, 1900). Critique d'art, théoricien et praticien du Heimatstil, il influença profondément sa profession et le grand public. Après la construction du casino d'Interlaken (1910), il se consacra exclusivement à l'aquarelle paysagiste. Membre de la Commission fédérale des beaux-arts (1907-1909).
